Friends are people that are always around
Who keeps the inner circle round
When you’re down they lift your spirits off the ground
They know when you hurt, & try to mend your heart
Walk with you a mile, even when you fake a smile
Never shy to ask the reason why, look at you and see the sky
Laugh at your jokes, and cry when you cry
Always takes your side, whether it be wrong or right
So keep them near, not forgetting what they mean.
Because you might need one who needs you dear.

Where are you when I need you?
When I need you the most,
my heart has broken up into pieces with confusion in between.
The life’s that I have known shouldn’t ever been torn.
The people I knew thought they were the ones to be true.
But no it’s not right now when I found out tonight.
I need you now with me, comforting me,
telling me that things will turn out alright.
What did I do wrong?

I need some answers for the tears I cry,
or it won’t help anymore if I just sit
and stare at the people I’ve once known to be fair
and kind through this time.
Where were you when I needed you?
You’ve gone away at the time I’ve needed you most.
Please tell me it will be okay,
and I will live through this without a worry in sight
and your love for me will always be here to guide me through this night.
So please remember who I am
and don’t forget I’m your friend.
I want you here by my side,
willing to stand up for me, loving me,
and willing to be that one I need you to be.

And there was a girl about thirteen.
She was not nice,
Nor was she mean.
She was quiet, and no one understood,
But there was a day,
When her shyness took over.
She meant this guy,
And he understood.
They became good friends,
They were always together,

Ill tell you a secret, you’ll tell me yours,
We’ll comb for shells, along the sea shores.
I’ll paint your nails, you’ll do my hair,
We’ll talk about boys, without a care.

We’ll sing along, to our favorite tune,
You’ll dance like mad, And look like a loon.
You’ll pick out my outfit, for that special date,
Cover for me at school, whenever I am later

At Christmas time, You’ll buy me a gift,
When your mom doesn’t show up, I’ll give you a lift.
We’ll spend the Summer, laughing all day,
When the park is cold & wet, we’ll still stay.

When no one else will hang with you,
I’ll stay by your side, Because that’s what friends do

Friends are just like angels, they protect you from badness,
They look after you when you are ill,
They listen to your problems,
They help you pay your bills,
They will always keep your secrets as you will always keep theirs,
but the one thing you must remember you will never get a better friend
