My Best Friend Just Passed Away

When I heard the news I fell to my knees
My best friend Just passed away
why did he have to go?
Can I turn back the clock and wish it never happened?
Or do i have to suffer the pain?
Can i wish to see him one more time?
Or just remember the good times we had?

  Thank you for this poem. I lost my best friend on 07/04/2010. Right now it iscoming up to her birthday and anniversary of her passing. I got the call to come to the hospital but she was gone. I fell to my knees. This a person who we had just talked about going somewhere to celebrate 40 yrs of being friends. She is always on my mind……

  your poem just touched my heart..cz I’ve lost my best friend recently..last month we had no communication and after a month i came to know that he killed himself,yes.scuicide..after i know that he want to tell me something,about his pain inside..but i was too late to do something….i never erase himself from my heart…..still i can feel his presence….thanks katie

  The poem touched my heart of how I felt when I heard that my first best friend passed away on Thursday. I only found out about it this morning.We use to try and meet after many years apart, I’ve always thought about her and tried to find a way to catch up with her,but anyway your poem is beautifully written.
